Greensboro, NC – Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-40 E

Greensboro, NC (September 14, 2025) – A 22-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Yahir Duran Garcia of Graham, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 40 East on Friday night, September 12. The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. near West Gate City Boulevard, according to the Greensboro Police Department. Investigators say Garcia was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle when he collided with another vehicle.

The impact caused him to crash, and despite emergency response, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the second vehicle involved, described as a dark green or black sedan, did not remain at the scene. The car may have visible damage to the left rear wheel or fender.

The Greensboro Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation and has asked the public for any information that could help locate the hit-and-run driver.
