Four Oaks, NC – High-Speed Chase on I-40 Ends in Crash & Injuries

Four Oaks, NC (September 30, 2025) – A Johnston County motorcyclist faces a felony charge following a high-speed chase and crash on Sunday afternoon, September 28, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The incident began around 2:00 p.m. when a trooper clocked a Triumph motorcycle traveling at 99 mph in a 70-mph zone on Interstate 40 westbound near mile marker 331. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, the rider accelerated, leading authorities on a 10-mile pursuit that topped speeds of 100 mph.

The motorcyclist exited onto N.C. 210 and continued eastbound before failing to yield at the Raleigh Road intersection, where he struck a minivan. The impact injured a woman in the minivan, though officials said her injuries were not life-threatening.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Once released, he will be charged with felony flee to elude and could face additional charges, including failure to yield.

Authorities noted that the damaged motorcycle may be seized under North Carolina’s “run and done” law, which allows for forfeiture of vehicles used in felony pursuits.
