Asheville, NC – Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Crash with Jeep on I-40 Ramp

Asheville, NC (September 8, 2025) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision with a Jeep Liberty on Monday morning, September 8, in Asheville. The crash occurred around 5:50 a.m. on the Interstate 40 West on-ramp at Smokey Park Highway. According to the Asheville Police Department, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound when the Jeep, heading east, attempted a left turn onto the on-ramp. The two vehicles collided, leaving the rider with severe injuries.

Emergency crews transported the motorcyclist to Mission Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released the rider’s identity or the extent of the injuries. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during the investigation. Police closed the ramp for several hours while they collected evidence and worked to reconstruct the sequence of events.
